More than 200 anti-dumping investigations are initiated every year around the world—in the past five years, the top five users of this measure have been India, Brazil, United States, Argentina, and China. It is said that excess capacity in one region can displace production in other regions, thus harming producers in those markets and creating risks for trade actions, such as anti-dumping measures. The seminar will provide an opportunity to obtain the latest state of play on anti-dumping and other trade remedies from around the world together with RIETI's latest studies on international trade rules (i.e., WTO) from legal and institutional perspectives. The seminar is also aimed at providing an opportunity to explore this topic with experts from Brazil, the WTO, and Japan, as well as other academics and practitioners from Japan.
